Summary: | In the age of the new millennium, systems developed are about improvements, innovations and automation. This research seeks to provide basic, practical solutions to address existing monitoring system related to radio frequency modulation broadcasting.
The current FM station monitoring system is a good example of an inefficient automation system due to its tedious manual monitoring. It is carried out by a technician who looks at the screen, tabulate and interprets the data from the equipment. With this method in place, erroneous data collection, outdated data records and lost data are frequent and recurring problems of the monitoring body. This problem led to the proposed system of a practical and custom made automation in data collection alongside with highly critical added features to ensure an efficient monitoring system.
An automated monitoring system will eliminate all the problems encountered by the Kapisan ng mga Brodkasters ng Pilipinas. It is the solution to the problem of overmodulation among local FM radio stations. The implementation of such a system will uphold the technical standards of the KBP. This system has the capability of retrieving the desired parameters, percent of modulation and Peaks Per Minute count through an interface with the monitoring equipment. A Graphical User Interface is also present to display the data collected from the system as well as to manipulate the settings and mode of operation of the monitoring system. Logs of the collected data can be stored accordingly into a database file. This is the system that will provide a fair playing field among all competing FM radio stations in the Philippines. |
