Sabino, Zheegie Camille S. This study was done to find out how the dissolution of a previous romantic relationship influenced the adolescent's manner of handling his/her current romantic relationship whether the reason for the dissolution was related to the type of dissolution s/he went through and what dissolution factor and type were most common among today's adolescents. One hundred and fifty adolescents were asked to answer two survey questionnaires: the first one was about the dissolution factors and types concerning the past relationship, while the other one was about the phases of relationship building concerning the past relationship, while the other one was about the phases of relationship building concerning the current relationship. Results showed that big personal differences was the most common dissolution factor and that mechanical failure was the most common dissolution type among adolescents. The dissolution factors were positively and significantly correlated with all the dissolution types, however, only two of the three dissolution factors were negatively and significantly correlated with two of the three phases of relationship building, namely little intimacy with exploratory phase and unequal involvement with the exploratory and stable phases. 2006-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/4962 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Separation (Psychology) Love in adolescence Interpersonal relations in adolescence Love-hate relationships Psychology |
