Summary: | This 40-minute documentary tackles the shift into vegetarian diet for an athlete. The subject undergoes a 30-day strict vegan diet to observe the changes - if there is any, to her over-all health and athletic performance. This starts with preliminary physical and medical tests to have basis for comparison during the 30 days. These tests are also repeated on the halfway mark, which is the 15th day, and after her last day as a vegan to show the changes her body went through. The camera follows her during her trainings and everyday life to show if the diet affects her performance negatively or positively and to see it if it a diet suited for her lifestyle.During pre-production phase, with just the two partners together, they had to move into an apartment together to make this project feasible. With no extra crew on hand, Karen and Theona juggled the role of cast and crew together, shooting 24 hours a day for 30 days. From eating out at restaurants, to trainings, to family gatherings, the partners had to be with each other with a camera always ready. |
