Urbanization has brought about many changes in society and has greatly affected human adaptation, which is exhibited in human behavior. A more industrialized setup creates an environment where stress, aggressive competition, and individualistic tendencies arise, giving way for the more pronounced occurrence of psychological disorders particularly among men, who thrive primarily in the workplace. However, the proponents have found that this kind of urban psychosis, is seldom treated in Philippine cinema which chooses to focus more on the stereotypes and negative representations of the mentally-ill. This is primarily due to the stigma attached to the topic of mental illness. This video feature then seeks to develop familiarity with the concepts involved in the occurrence of mental illness in the ordinary, urban setting with the aim of deviating from the stereotypical representations of mental illness in the Philippine context. 2006-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/5095 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Mental illness--Philippines City and town life--Philippines--Psychological aspects Video recordings—Production and direction Communication
