Sison, Kimberly Rae A. The status of women is an indicator of how modern a society is. Rich countries usually have women who are given the same opportunities as their male counterparts. Poor countries on the other hand have a higher propensity to have gaps regarding opportunities between men and women. The purpose of this thesis is to assess what suitable working environment is needed to have women empower themselves and in the process help in nation building. The researchers wanted to know what laws and programs are needed in a country to help women empower themselves. In order to answer this, the researchers have chosen to compare three countries specifically the Czech Republic, Romania, and the Philippines, to see what laws and programs are needed to facilitate the empowerment of women. The approach used is to look into how these countries regulate the status of women in the workplace and how they support the women who play a big part in the labor sector. In comparing the three countries, the researchers found out that a high count of labor laws regarding the employment of women is correlated to having lesser a lesser disparity in the workplace between men and women. Also, programs that are offered by the government make an impact on how women become more employable and make their way further up the employment ladder. 2010-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/5320 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Women's rights--Philippines Women's rights--European Union countries International and Area Studies Women's Studies
