Flores, Martin Luis G. This study aimed on locating and mapping the dipterocarp trees found in the area of study Hidden Valley Springs Resort, Alaminos, Laguna through the Geographic Information System (GIS) database. Every mature dipterocarp tree was located and tagged with a Global Positioning System (GPS) handheld then measured for the diameter at breast height (dbh) using a tape measure and for the height using a laser range finder (lrf). The database was created with the aid of a GIS program specifically DIVA-GIS. A total of 65 dipterocarp trees was tagged and assessed. The database contained both primary data (coordinates, dbh and height per specimen) and secondary data (soil concentration, slope, and climate). These data were input into the constructed GIS database with a base layer raster data supplemented with a vector data of the area. To simplify the accessing of the data encoded in the GIS database a user interface was constructed using Visual Basics which was referenced from the actual GIS database. 2010-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/5308 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Dipterocarpaceae--Philippines--Laguna--Databases Geographic Information Sciences Physical and Environmental Geography
