Description
Summary:Retirement as part of role theory is considered as one of the major transition in an individual's life and because of this they are always associated with an individual feeling less important, depressed and isolated. In order to cope with depression, a retired elderly may use emotion-focused coping wherein the individual uses strategies such as avoidance, distancing, and selective attention. One form under this coping is through daydreaming wherein the elderly creates his own kingdom of imagery in order to bear and solve their problems and to lessen their feeling of depression.
