The sensors measures the presence of the people inside the room and the ambient room temperature while the switches regulate lighting and control electrical sockets. The coordinator collects the data coming from the wireless sensor nodes, displays the status of the system in a graphical user interface (GUI) and stores the data in a database management system. Communication takes place in the network through XBee wireless radios that are configured to implement the ZigBee protocol. Based on the results, the proponents acquire a system reliability of about 93.33%.
