Celestial, Jo Deneb M. Emerging adulthood is a development stage between late adolescence and early adulthood and is determined by the four markers: accepting responsibility for oneself, making independent decisions, financial independence, and settling in a virtue of work, parenthood and career. Attainment of the markers leads to successful transition into adutlhood. Past research has shown that culture affect the attainment of markers. Particularly, in the Asian setting which is affected by familial duty. The research aims to look into the conceptions of adulthood among Filipino emerging adults. This study will utilize a quantitative approach by utilizing the markers of adulthood questionnaire (Arnett, 1997:2001) in data collection and analyses. Five hundred participants who fulfill the emerging adulthood criteria accomplished the questionnaire. Findings revealed that Filipino emerging adults characterize conception of adulthood in two main domains namely, family capabilities and individualism.
