Domingo, Carl Mitchell H. In this paper, an exploratory study of traffic flow on select road sections of Epifanio De los Santos Avenue (EDSA) is conducted in consideration of the limitations of Metro Manila Development Authority data. This study considered the traffic road patterns in select roads namely, North Avenue, Aurora Boulevard, Shaw Boulevard, Ayala Avenue, and Roxas Boulevard along southbound. Analyses were performed separately for weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with a view towards a more dynamic characterization of traffic flow patterns. Under the assumptions made in this study, results showed that the worst traffic conditions are observed in Aurora Blvd while the lightest is observed in North Avenue. In addition, regardless of day of the week, observing lighter traffic conditions in Aurora Blvd are highly dependent on traffic levels in North Avenue approximately 15-30 minutes prior. Future explorations are in order, particularly the addition of more highways and how traffic conditions interact. 2016-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14896 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Traffic congestion--Philippines Traffic monitoring--Philippines Traffic engineering--Philippines Logistic regression analysis Statistics and Probability |
