Description
Summary:Escuela Taller de Filipinas Foundation, Inc. (ETFFI) is a technical vocational school that equips out-of-school youth with knowledge and specialized skills in construction-related trades while focusing on heritage conservation to help broaden their job prospects. ETFFI inadequately communicates safety messages to their trainers through posters, PowerPoint presentations, and face-to-face communication. The researchers used the safety communication model by Greeff (2017) as the basis for the intervention. The model asserts that adequate and strategic safety communication can promote a conducive safety climate in construction organizations. Safety communication is important because it informs employees and/or other organizational members about the safety rules and procedures to reduce the likelihood of accidents and injuries at work. The intervention consists of improved PowerPoint presentations, posters, and supplementary videos that discuss safety rules and procedures and its significance to the trainees.
