Cinnamomum mercadoi locally known as kalingag, is an endemic tree to the Philippines and is classified as vulnerable in the 1998 International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red list of threatened species. This research aimed to isolate and purify compounds of the dichloromethane extracts of C. mercadoi leaves through normal phase silica gel column chromatography and to determine the chemical structures of pure isolates using spectroscopic techniques nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and use infrared spectroscopy to determine the functional groups present in isolates in support of NMR spectral data. Non-polar components that were identified were long-chain hydrocarbons and eugenol. The ¹H NMR, spectrum recorded for eugenol was compared to published spectrum from the literature. IR analysis was performed to confirm the functional groups. 2019-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/14855 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Cinnamomum—Analysis Chemistry
