A prototype laboratory scale algae pond was used in this study to determine the extent of carbon dioxide removal by the algae. Chlorella Pyrenoidosa was the algal strain employed in the study. The effect of varying the carbon dioxide concentration in the input air to the pond was taken into consideration. The extent of carbon dioxide fixation was based on the moles of carbon dioxide fixed per two hours. Monitoring of algal growth as well as temperature and pH were also considered in the study.
