The goal of this study is to evaluate the suitability of grade B low carbon steel to low pH (2.5-4.0) fluids at a temperature range of 70-100 centigrade. This was accomplished by measuring the corrosion rate of grade B low carbon steel to geothermal brine samples at pH range of 2.5-4.0, temperature range of 70-100 centigrade and velocity range of 475-710 rpm through immersion tests. Result shows that the different controlled parameters such as temperature and pH significantly affect the corrosion rate of grade B low carbon steel.
