Summary:The purpose of this study determine the different attachment styles caregivers from orphanages have and how this affects the attachment formation in Filipino abandoned orphans. Bowlby's attachment theory was used in this study, it contains threeain attachment styles secure attachment, anxious resistant attachment, and anxious avoidant attachment. Qualitative research was used in this study with exploratory case study method to allow a more in-depth analysis. The results have revealed several themes under the three research questions. These themes were (1) Parental Sacrifice, (2) Career Path, (3) Secure Attachment, for the first problem. (4) Emotional Gain, (5) Sympathy/Empathy, (6) Love/Care, and (7) Discipline Formation for the second, and (8) Attachment Formation, (9) Different moods of the orphans, and (10)Trust and Respect for the third problem. Cross analysis was done in order to find the common factors among the results. Secure attachment was proved to be the most widely used attachment styles among all the eight caregivers.
