Escoto, Anna Patricia R. Ng, Andrea Joyce S. Two hundred fifteen participants, 102 adolescents and 113 middle-aged individuals, were asked to complete the Bern Sex-Role Inventory (BSRI) in order for the researchers to classify them as being feminine, nearly feminine, masculine, nearly masculine or androgynous. Twenty-one participants were interviewed to gather information about the influences that lead one to be androgynous. There are significantly more androgynous adolescents than androgynous middle-aged individuals. Factors that influenced their present sex-role orientation are the individual's culture, family and peers, religion, and socioeconomic status. The researchers recommend that future studies should diversity the sample in terms of size and personal background and to have in-depth interviews regarding the possible influences that lead one to be androgynous. 2007-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/5898 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Androgynous (Psychology)
