Results showed that resistance to ampicillin and amoxicillin were more common than that to nalidixic acid and nitrofurantoin.The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the four antibiotics commonly prescribed to treat UTI cases were also determined. Results showed that isolates tested to be resistant to particular antibiotics using the disc agar diffusion method may be sensitive to the antibiotics in the urine level because the MIC of the antibiotics against the isolates were achievable in the urine level.Of the E. coli isolates tested for their conjugative transferability, seven transferred their resistance traits.
