The causal relationships among anxiety, locus of control, self-esteem and fear of success: A path analytic approach

The present study proposed a causal model of fear of success. The model consisted of a set of hypotheses that link specific variables, namely, locus of control, self-esteem, and anxiety in a causal relation. To test the model, 98 fear of success students completed the Internal-External Control Scale...

Co, Sheila C. Hingco, Hannah T. The present study proposed a causal model of fear of success. The model consisted of a set of hypotheses that link specific variables, namely, locus of control, self-esteem, and anxiety in a causal relation. To test the model, 98 fear of success students completed the Internal-External Control Scale, Self-Esteem Scale, and the Filipino Adolescent Scale. The Pappo Fear of Success Questionnaire assessed fear of success. Data were collected using a non-probabilistic sampling method and analyzed using the procedures of path analysis. The results indicated that locus of control and self-esteem are the best predictors of fear of success. However, anxiety did not correlate with fear of success, as well as with any other variable in the study. No correlation for GPA and fear of success was found. 1998-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/5925 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Anxiety Fear of success Locus of control Personality Self-esteem
