Automated guided vehicle traffic management system simulation

This simulation is a traffic management system for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV). It is used to prevent the collision of two AGVs on a manufacturing line. The system electronically controls the start and stop of an AGV. On a specific point where the two AGVs will meet, a vehicle will stop. This is...

This simulation is a traffic management system for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV). It is used to prevent the collision of two AGVs on a manufacturing line. The system electronically controls the start and stop of an AGV. On a specific point where the two AGVs will meet, a vehicle will stop. This is to let the priority vehicle pass through the intersection without the occurrence of a collision. Then the priority AGV triggers the start of the other AGV. To control the AGVs, infrared sensors were installed on one vehicle and all the workstations around the intersection. The infrared transmitters were installed on the workstations while the infrared receivers were installed on the AGV.For simulation purposes, only one AGV is computer controlled having a closed loop system. It runs on a reflective tape using photosensors. The other AGV can be controlled manually using the keyboard of the computer. The traffic management system is used to produce a proper flow of traffic of two or more AGVs being used in a manufacturing line. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/6007 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Automated guided vehicle systems Robots, Industrial Traffic flow Detectors Simulation methods Electronic systems
