The primary objective of this study is to find out if there is a significant relationship between perceived parental discipline and adolescent's sexual behavior, as well as the relationship of demographic variables, such as gender and socio-economic status, with adolescents' sexual behavior. Convenience sampling design was utilized. Two hundred sixteen (216) college students were chosen according to availability and were given the questionnaire. Later on, the number of the respondents was reduced from two hundred sixteen (216) to one hundred and eighty one (181) adolescents. The question in the survey were generated from a separate focus group discussion (FGD) of six (6) males and another for seven (7) females. The major findings of the study were generated through the Pearson's r statistical analysis. The relationship of sexual behavior to demographic variables such as gender and socio-economic status (SES) was found out to be significant. However, researchers concluded that parental discipline has no significant relationship with adolescent's sexual behavior. Furthermore, a positive relationship exists between adolescent's sexual behavior and gender and a negative relationship exist between adolescent's sexual behavior and socio economic status. 1996-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/6169 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Adolescents Parent and child Youth--Sexual behavior Sexual ethics for youth Discipline of children Child rearing |
