Description
Summary:The research paper aims to find out the effect of real estate development on the universal, commercial, and thrift banking sector in the Philippines for the period 1999-2015. The researchers used real estate loan exposure to see the effect of the real estate development on each banking sector's return on assets. The results of the panel regression showed that only real estate loans are a significant driver for the movement of the return on assets in the universal and commercial banking sector. The results of the panel regression for the thrift banking sector showed that non-performing assets and non-performing loans are a significant driver for the movement of the return on assets on the said banking sector.
