Description
Summary:Pannzian Beach and Mountain Resort is an eco-tourism resort located in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Aside from offering their guests the typical resort activities such as swimming, trekking and relaxing at the beach, Pannzian Beach and Mountain Resort actively seeks to encourage its guest and employees alike to appreciate and take care of the environment. The communication audit results show that there has been a lack of information among the members of the community surrounding the organization Pannzian Beach and Mountain resort regarding proper fishing methods, proper waste management and alternative livelihood. The lack of information has brought about reports of the constant depletion of fish, polluted rivers and uncollected wastes and poverty in the community. The proponents organized and conducted an Information Education Communication (IEC) through a Public Relations Event (PR Event) that would help the organization relay important information to the community. Furthermore, this IEC with the use of a PR Event initiated the primary goal of the organization of sustainable eco-tourism and community development. Results taken from the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) conducted after the event showed that the community has retained information regarding proper fishing methods, proper waste management and new forms of alternative livelihood.
