Description
Summary:The proponents produced a video documentary about House Bill 7956. House bill 7956 was a bill created by Cong. Socorro Acosta to separate the Philippine General Hospital from the University of the Philippines, Manila, UP system. This caused a clamor in the UP and the PGH. Students, employees, nurses and doctors believe that the bill is a ploy to privatize the PGH since many provisions in the bill are somewhat misleading. With all the controversies surrounding the bill, a revised bill was proposed by the PGH committee, the revised bill now seeks not to separate the PGH from the UP system but instead to modernize the hospital. Again, modernization, they say is another face of what we call privatization. We believe that the PGH should remain a charity hospital. Whatever the government's plan to the PGH, they should consider the effects it would have to the greater majority of the Filipinos who go to the PGH for their health needs. The video ran for 10 minutes and the proponents used linear and non-linear editing.
