Description
Summary:Every blind individual has a right to live a full life contributing the best he can to progress. Thus, the disabled people, especially the blind share full human rights with the abled bodied and are entitled to every possible means of growth and development. Yet due to the fact that people often see them on the streets begging, they overlook and sometimes underestimate their ability to become independent and economically self-sufficient. This video documentary which is about the different capabilities of blind individuals will counteract the negative misconceptions towards the blind. By showing the training programs offered by different institutions catering to the blind, there is still a chance of liberating the blind from the bonds of mendicancy and social degradation. In this video documentary by centering on the life a blind masseuse who became independent in her life, it proves that with sufficient training, the disabled despite their disability can live a normal and productive life. And by showing the various training programs and interviews with supervisors of different institutions catering to the blind it is possible that the blind can also do other things aside from what they can do now. The project utilized the Video 8 format and was edited in S-VHS format. The 20-minute video documentary will be presented in U-matic format.
