Lee, Kirby Spencer A. Ysmael, Maria Ysabella R. The study explored the cognitive processes of Filipino ballerinas about their body image. Ten (10) female Filipino ballerinas aged 16-25 were interviewed on the subject of their beliefs on their body image, their perception of their own body, and how it influenced them. A semi-structured interview was used in the data collection process. The data gathered were analyzed exhaustively by the primary researchers and the auditor to arrive at a consensus. Results show that there exists beliefs that the ballerinas possess about their body (such as them being too fat or not a talented dancer) that can be triggered through cues like social media and food intake. These beliefs are formed due to certain events that the ballerina experiences, through assimilation and accommodation, which later leads to consequences like following a strict diet and exercising more so that they may able to attain the ideal ballerina body. 2016-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/6400 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Body image--Psychological aspects Human body-- Social aspects Ballerinas--Philippines Psychology
