The researchers focused on three main categories during the interview: (1) what lead to participant's decision to leave college, (2) the challenges the participant faced after leaving college and (3) the process of the participant's manifestation of grit to answer the research question how did individuals who left college and pursued their passion manifest grit and become successful despite all the challenges they faced? The researchers concluded that if one is gritty it would lead to the individuals drive to be successful and their drive to be able to accomplish what they set their mind to.
