Yu, Fraulein Friola P. The system Computer Animated Speech Therapy (CAST) is a software that is aimed at helping speech pathologists in treating patients with various speech disorders. It serves as a visual therapy tool which illustrates the cross section of the face in order to display the lip, tongue and jaw movements involved in producing the various speech sounds. The three parts mentioned are the concentration of the system but it also displays the movement in the glottis and soft and hard palate. CAST offers five main features -- File, Database, Animate, Verbalize, and Synch. Aside from this, it also provides an editor wherein texts and IPA's can be formed. The File commands available are Load, New, Delete, Save, and Save As. The files accessed have a proprietary format. Once a file has been accessed, the editor is made available to the user. In creating texts, the user has to provide a word and its IPA. The Database offers the user the choice of search, insertion, deletion, or modification of database entries. The Animate function makes use of morphing algorithms to display the transitions involved in producing the various phonetic sounds. The system also offers the Verbalize option which produces the audio equivalent of a given text. The Synch function produces both audio and video output for a specified text. 1996-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/6597 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Computer animation Speech therapy Sound -- Digital techniques Computer vision Computer sound processing Computer Sciences
