Leguina, Idoya S. Nugui, Percita B. The computer revolution remains unparalleled in the history of human existence. People have found a use for computers in almost every field. This project finds use for computers in education. According to the Science Education Institute (SEI) of the Department of Science and Technology, the quality of secondary education, especially in the areas of mathematics and science, is fast deteriorating. The major factor identified for such decadence is the inability of teachers to provide individualized instruction to cope with the different learning capabilities of students. The intelligent Computer Aided Instruction (ICAI) can help alleviate such a difficulty. It allows the student to take instructions from the computer to learn about a particular subject matter. Furthermore, it can provide one-to-one instruction by taking into consideration the learning pace of the student. ICAI uses the techniques, methods and principles of instructional programs. An ICAI prototype on the subject Geometry was developed using the microcomputer. The goal of this project initiated by the DOST is to provide assistance to both teachers and students alike, in the hope of integrating the system with the traditional methods of teaching. ICAI development is at its infancy stage in the Philippines. This project is a humble contribution of the proponents of this study to the future development of ICAI projects in the country. 1992-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/6634 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Computer programs Geometry -- Computer-assisted instruction Computer-assisted instruction Computer Sciences |
