Butas ng karayom is a documentary about local seamstress in the Philippines. The garment industry is considered one of the largest contributors in the Philippine economy due to its large importation and exportation numbers. The growth of the industry has led to the emergence and expansion of local businesses. Taytay, Rizal is one of the major municipalities contributing to the industry's growth as it is called the garments capital of the Philippines. Behind the industry are thousands of labor workers such as seamstresses who contribute to the industry's success. However, these seamstresses also experience conflict in terms of labor wage and work hours due to businesses imposing productivity-based salaries.
