The Philippine Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003, the Dual Citizenship law, is deemed as a vital piece of legislation and will also serve as a response by the government to the expanding themes of globalization and nationalistic values of Filipinos in foreign lands. It is anticipated that upon the passage of this bill, it is an affirmation that the Filipino people embrace their Filipino brothers abroad and that their continued contribution in keeping the Philippines economy afloat would be more highly appreciated. This kind of legislation would create long-term effects as it would spur interests among Filipinos abroad to make investments in their country and eventually improve its economic potentials as well. The enactment of the law in the Philippines is aimed to empower our kababayan, armed with their innate Filipino values and acquired competencies, to play an active role in strengthening democracy, progress and stability in the Filipino country. 2005-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/6746 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Dual nationality Citizenship--Philippines
