Description
Summary:The gist of the study is to determine the most versatile inhibitor available in the market to protect boiler tubes from corrosion. Through comprehensive research, information were gathered regarding different kinds of inhibitors which eliminates dissolved oxygen, softens the feed water, provides enough alkalinity, and prevents scaling.Boiler water treatment today has become more difficult and more complex than in the past because of some changing trends in the operation of the boiler plants. The trend towards higher condensate return has accentuated the importance of the problem of iron. More external treatment allows for the operation at higher cycles and brings with it its associated problems. Today's sophisticated boiler design generally has less sludge tolerance and therefore requires better control. The energy crisis in the present Philippine situation heightens labor cost calls for the need for simplicity in the treatment programs.
