The objective of this study is to create a PC based appliance control and monitoring system capable of handling different types of appliances all at the same time. This project was implemented with a single master controller and multiple slave units which control and monitor. The system ideally communicates using a three-wire line however, a pair of AC modems can also be implemented for communication through the power lines. Twenty-three bits are used for room, control, and monitoring codes. These codes are transmitted serially. These data will be stored in the latching circuitry before distributing it to the control and monitoring section. The monitoring part is achieved by using three types of sensors. Photoresistors for the lights, phototransistors and monostable multi vibrators for the fans, and thermistors for the air-conditioners. The status of each device will be fed back to the main computer. Through a similar communication circuit that uses the AC line. 1992-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/6908 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository De La Salle University--Buildings Digital control systems Computer systems Power electronics Engineering |
