Summary: | The main purpose of the study was to develop a Computer-Assisted Instructional (CAI) game program to serve as an aid in teaching Elementary Statistics 1. Only certain topics from the ELESTA1 course outline were included in the program. Specific learning objectives were enumerated which served as the guide in writing the content of the game program. A manual was also developed to guide the intended users in operating the program. The program was then tested to twenty students for an hour who either have taken, or are taking ELESTA1. A survey-questionnaire and an achievement test was distributed to determine the perceived effectivity of the program and to determine if learning took place, respectively. It was gathered that the CAI game program was perceived to be effective which complemented the performance of the subjects in the achievement test. |
