Description
Summary:This project aims to supplement a previous study conducted by Engrs. Catalina Mijares and Armand Felizardo regarding the possible presence of induced stray currents in the DLSU main water pipeline coming from the LRT system. The system replicates the electrical current conditions of the main pipe in a similar test pipe. Replication is done by sensing the voltage across the main pipe, amplifying it to a readable value, then utilizing this value as an input to a voltage divider network which is responsible for computing the appropriate voltage across the main pipe, amplifying it to a readable value, then utilizing this value as an input to a voltage divider network which is responsible for computing the appropriate voltage to be applied across the sample test pipe. An electronic data recorder interfaced to a computer was employed to facilitate retrieval and storage of data. The data retrieved from the system will serve as the basis of our Chemical Engineering thesis group counterparts in determining the quantitative effects of stray currents brought about by the LRT system.
