Description
Summary:The occurrence of adverse events in the Philippine hospitals, along with its contributory factors and sub-factors, has shown to be a complex field of study. The purpose of this research is to develop a framework that evaluates and prioritizes the factors contributing to adverse events in the hospital sector of the Philippines. In order to achieve this, the study utilized the application of the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process in the prioritization of factors and sub-factors. Based on the results, technology (19.32%) is the main factor that should be prioritized by hospitals in the Philippines followed by institutional context (15.95%) and workforce condition (15.11%) as the second and third most influential factor. Results validation was conducted by having another set of experts and it has shown that there were only minimal difference between the results of the initial and final results answered by two different sets of experts, with technology being the main factor for both sets.
