Description
Summary:This present descriptive study is an attempt to determine what are the concepts of unfaithfulness of Filipino husbands and Filipino wives who are living in the urban setting and if there exist a significant difference between the Filipino husband's concept of unfaithfulness as committed by the husband and wife, and Filipino wife's concept of unfaithfulness as committed by the wife and husband. The subjects were married couples living in the urban setting for it is assumed that the locale is a factor that contributes to the prevalence of marital unfaithfulness. A survey questionnaire was used as the major instrument in gathering the data however, interviews were also conducted for elaborations on relevant issues. The statistics used in determining concepts were the frequencies, mean ranks, median ranks while in determining the differences, Wilcoxon T-test, t-test, and Chi square were used. Through the data gathered, the most common forms of unfaithfulness, effects of unfaithfulness, reasons for unfaithfulness, signs and acts of unfaithfulness were identified. There were also significant differences in the husbands' and wives concepts of unfaithfulness that were found.
