Description
Summary:Computers have provided vast improvements in various fields of human endeavor such as publication, education, business, word processing, manufacturing and government defense. The computer's capability to manage large databases and ability to present ideas in a captivating manner proved to be extremely useful in education. One relatively new technology, the hypermedia, exhibits a very promising role in this field. The focus of this particular study is on the technology of hypermedia. The final output, which is a hypermedia edition of the corrido Ibong Adarna, is a mouse driven software that will include a pop up Filipino dictionary which will define any word or phrase highlighted by the reader according to the glossary of terms to be gathered in the course of the study. Users of this software (i.e. first year high school students of De La Salle Santiago Zobel School and the faculty in charge of teaching Ibong Adarna) may be provided with a synopsis, as well as a list of characters and a brief description of each character at the beginning of the corrido. It will also include video and audio representations of some of the scenes.
