Description
Summary:Computers have provided vast improvements in various fields of human endeavor such as in the field of education, medicine, business, manufacturing, banking, communications and engineering. The role of computers in information systems have increased significantly. The reason is the explosion of information and the need to process large amounts of data to extract small amounts of information have contributed to the increasing importance of computer-based information systems. This particular study shall focus on developing a computer-based information system for Topway International Incorporated, a medium-scale manufacturing company engaged in the production of polypropylene yarns and polyproplene webbing. Executive Plus will cover the inventory, production monitoring and payroll aspects of the said company. The project will be implemented in a local area network environment. This will result to sharing of resources and a more timely access to information. The inventory system will keep track of the supplies of raw materials, spare parts and finished goods on hand. The production system will include monitoring the product orders during the different process in production. The payroll system will be used in computing the employees' salaries. Deductions, such as SSS contributions and withholding Tax, will be considered in these computations.
