Description
Summary:The advent of new computer technologies such as the faster microprocessor, local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and more powerful database languages, has greatly improved data collection and information processing. These new technologies have helped government agencies like the National Statistics Office (NSO), which once relied on manual gathering, tabulation, processing, and storage of data to do the job. As of now, several of the agency's functions are already computerized, although a lot of systems still have to be improved. The thesis group has decided to develop an information system to be used by Industry Statistics Division of the Industry and Trade Statistics Department (ITSD) of the National Statistics Office (NSO). This thesis will help the Industry Statistics Division improve on their statistical data generation. The following documentation discusses the objectives and the concepts behind the thesis project. The details of how the proposed system works will be discussed in the documentation.
