Description
Summary:With the growing number of student population enrolling in different schools, colleges and universities in different parts of the country, the establishment of more schools and the improvement of the present educational system are inevitable. The need for a more efficient and reliable educational system has arise due to the growing student population. De La Salle-Lipa, one of the most notable educational institutions in the Southern Tagalog region, for instance, was faced with this dilemma. The continuous increase in the number of students enrolling per school year brings tremendous problems in paperwork's and management. The increase in the student population has a lot of adverse effects. It would mean more paperwork's for the staff or office personnel, more physical facilities, more professors or teachers and more classrooms. It is not easy as it seems. The complications arise in the scheduling of classrooms and teachers, student billing and enrollment procedures. Having these in mind, the proponents have tried to come up with an information system which would eliminate the problems facing the school with systematic and efficient routine procedures. The De La Salle -Lipa Information System (DLSL-IS) is intended to alleviate the manual routines with a methodical and orderly flow of processes. It includes vital procedures such as student admission, student billing, enrollment system and course scheduling. Since all of the processes in the new system will be computerized, the speed and reliability of the procedures will be greatly enhanced. The DLSL-IS aids in the scheduling of classrooms and teaches, automatic updating of student accounts and generating of student files such as transcript of records and class list. With its windowed and menu-driven features, the DLSL-IS is very user-friendly. The proponents believe that the system, once implemented, will address the problems facing De La Salle-Lipa.
