Summary: | The Multifunction Integrated Electronics Testbench (MIET), as the name implies, is a versatile PC-based device that is designed for ease and convenience in laboratory testing. The system is composed of two parts: the hardware and the software modules. Conventional instruments and devices which include the Voltmeter, Ammeter, Ohmmeter typical DMM), Signal Generator and Oscilloscope comprise the hardware or Probe Interface Module (PIM). These are interfaced using an interface card to a 486 DX-2 computer for signal processing, conditioning and other controls. The output will be fed as parameters to the software part or the Graphical User Interface (GUI) module, responsible for process control, signal processing and display to the PC monitor. The GUI section is designed and programmed to display an oscilloscope trace, a multimeter, and the signal generator options window. Access to scope and meter controls will be through pop-up menus and buttons, made easier by the mouse support included in the system. |
