The Rain Tree Pro Library System is an upgrade of the Rain Tree Lite Library System with COM technology. The Rain Tree Lite, which is generic library automation software that was developed by Norinco Technologies. It was aimed to address the need for reasonably price library systems that are fully integrated with all the basic functionality of a common library. It was designed to be generic for it to be able to accommodate the most basic functions any library institution would have. It also comes with customizable features to support specific requirements of some libraries for added flexibility and for it to be able to cope with the uniqueness of some institutions. However, like any other software, it now needs an upgrade to accommodate the ever-changing demands of its market. The upgraded version still aims to cater to the need for reasonably priced library systems. Further, Microsoft COM technology will be used and the whole code will be re-written. The difference now is that the upgraded system has new functions that make the duties of a librarian lightier. Also, the updated system will be able to handle both small to medium sized libraries by utilizing Microsoft Access and SQL Server 7 as their back-ends respectively. With new features at a reduced cost, add it to the COM design for scalability, the upgraded Rain Tree Library System will be able to almost to any library. 2001-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/7568 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Integrated library systems (Computer systems) Libraries--Automation Library information networks Information technology
