The proponents recognize the importance of the youth's involvement in various socio-political issues that shape the Filipino nation. This feature film was conceived to help address the increasing apathy of different sectors of society. Political apathy, especially on issues such as corruption and authoritarianism, has continued to plague the Filipino society over the years. And even if the likes of Dr. Jose Rizal had initiated efforts to address this, pressing political issues still endure up to this day. Capitalizing on the influence of contemporary culture and the strengths of the medium, the proponents will be able to relay their message of urgency to comprehending audiences. The intention is not to coerce viewers to adapt the political beliefs presented in the film, and it is important that the audience realizes this. They will be merely presented with several ways by which they can address the socio-political problems that the nation is facing. The goal is for each spectator to develop a critical eye for contemporary national issues and concerns. The proponents believe that the Filipino youth, as well as other discerning generations, will be able to formulate transformative means by which they can purge the government and society of injustice and restraint. It is more important that they make themselves aware and involved if they want to see change. 2008-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/7609 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Feature films Corruption--Philippines Philippines--Politics and government Philippines--Social policy |
