Subia, Kathleen The Admissions and Medical Records - Information System (AM-IS) is an Information System developed for the Admissions and Medical Records department of the Manila Sanitarium and Hospital. The system will aid the two departments with their operations.Inclusive of the Admissions department functions are admitting the patient and providing the patients with suitable accommodation based on their capacity to pay, discharging the patients, maintenance of the patient's admission record and admission card, and giving assistance to the information desk by providing the list of currently admitted patients. In addition to these, the admissions department is also in-charge of the production of promissory note, daily summary report, and discharge permit.The functions of the Medical Records department include: receiving of the patient's record assembling and reviewing each set of records for completeness, maintaining a follow-up system for securing the lacking documents and requirements maintaining the integrity of the record files by control maintaining accessibility of the medical record by patient index, disease and operation index, physician index assigning color codes and numbers to medical records by terminal digit system for a centralized unit record assembling the medical records and making them accessible for case studies of the medical staff and authorized persons and preparing statistical data.The proponents limited the area of study within the two departments as prioritized by the user and as approved by the administration. Why Admissions and Medical Records?
