| Summary: | DIMEN is a Windows-based environment where Document Image Management (DIM) applications can be created. It provides facilities for scanning, linking, storing and printing images. Since the application that can be developed will also be considered as a Windows application, other facilities are provided where the user can specify the window title and menu items.The study intended to develop a system that provides an environment for developing DIM applications. The methodology used in the development of the system was the object-oriented paradigm.It was found out that only few information is available on the technologies used in the creation of such a system. There is also a need for a more detailed information on the peripheral (s) used by such systems and the applications that can be created. Furthermore, interfacing the peripherals with the system and in a Windows environment needs more in-depth study. |
