Pangako ng Lupang Tinubuan , is a didactic documentary in Filipino, about the impact of the OCW's of Brgy. Poblacion, San Pascual, Batangas, to the non-OCW's in the same community. OCW's became ... an inspiration to persevere in life. (Francisco and Jimenez, 1983) for non-OCW's. The conflict lies in how the inspiration influenced and motivated the latter to better their lot. With the advantages (bigger monetary gains, securing the future of the family, etc.,) and disadvantages (separation from one's family with the risks that might accompany such separation --broken homes, teenage pregnancies, proliferation of drug addicts, etc.,) present, although they are not oppose, non-OCW's maintain that it is best for OCW's to stay in the country. This is the stand the documentary took. This conflict will gradually surface as the socio-economic impact of the OCW phenomenon is relayed by the different sectors of the community, the OCW group --OCW returnees, aspirants, OCW wives and children, and the non-OCW's. There are three levels of approach--personal, community and national, closely interwoven such that either one brings out the other. By looking into the impact of the phenomenon to this particular community, another avenue of awareness is brought forth--many Filipinos see no hope for them in their own country although there are still opportunities. They strongly believe that to invest hardwork here is a futile effort and a waste of time. This video documentary was shot using the high-8 format with a running time of about 20-25 minutes. The final work was edited and presented in the U-matic format. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/7670 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Filipinos in foreign countries--Employment Overseas employees Working life Life style Video recordings, Documentary
