Co, Theo J Johannes F. Guiang, Brian Joseph E. Palomaria, Shaira S. Flooding is a present-day detrimental issue currently being faced by the Philippines, especially that of the city of Metro Manila. As the capital metropolitan city of the Philippines covers a substantial land area of the National Capital Region, infrastructures located within the vicinity experience frequent flooding due not only to heavy rainfall, but built groundwork that support the frame of the cityscape examples of which are the roads and pavements. As the city has proposed and utilized various methods in which flooding can be better mitigated in the city, such as employing both structural and non-structural mitigation measures construction of drainage channels, cleaning of sewage systems, undertaking river training works, and the like to name a few, these mitigation measures have not attained the better mitigation of the pooling of flood water in the vicinity. With this, by integrating a standard for pavements by substituting impervious pavements with porous pavements with perforated pipes, ponding on sidewalks and roads may diminish and the problem of flooding may be better mitigated at certain rainfall amounts at a given time duration with the employment of permeable pavements on the streets and sidewalks of Metro Manila, using De La Salle University grounds, specifically the area of Marian Quadrangle, as an area for testing. 2017-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/7720 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Flood control--Philippines Floods--Philippines
