Focusing on the central theme of too much reliance on luck, Barya delves into three different games of chance. Three independent shorts, three stories, one central element - luck. The three main characters of these shorts are (1) Bong, the security guard who unknowingly sacrifices what should have been for his family just for Bingo. (2) Leah whose enslavement to lottery is witnessed by her son, and (3) Benji, the fresh graduate who constantly deals with the struggle to find a decent job and the pressure to join a game show. Because of the three's desperation caused by failure to find a sustainable source of income, they easily got lured by the luster of instant money and ended up relying too much on various games of chance that would supposedly give them big bucks the fast and easy way. This feature shall show that this should not be the case - that in joining games of chance, whether legal or illegal, however entertaining, one cannot be assured of the best sustainable solution to the great problems in life, mainly overcoming poverty and ensuring one's security. This feature emphasizes the need to exert time, money and effort on more important things that guarantee solutions to problems, rather than completely relying on such games of chance that merely entertain and do not provide solutions to their real problems. 2008-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/7773 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Fortune Poverty Communication
