Mozo, Angelika Mae I. Ycon, Sheena Mae F. One of the struggles a homosexual face is self-acceptance. Having been thought that they are heterosexuals, homosexuals find it difficult to accept their true sexuality and faces self-doubt. With this, homosexuals tend to stay within their closets and tend not to have an authentic life due to their denial to their true sexuality. This paper will provide discussions on homosexuality specifically the state of being closeted gay. It will provide a deeper understanding about closeted gays through providing its definition and talking about the struggles and pressures of closeted gays in coming out specifically the struggle of accepting their own selves as homosexuals. The paper would also include a discussion of the art of cosplay and how it serves as a way of an expression of oneself. It would also provide a comparison between the life authenticity of closeted gays and cosplayers specifically a comparison between living life freely by expressing oneself and being in-denial of one's true sexuality. Basing on research studies about closeted gays, cosplay, authenticity of life, and self-expression, and on interviews of previously closeted gays, and cosplayers, the researchers produce a short narrative film which tackles their experiences and feelings. 2018-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/7828 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Gays in motion pictures Homosexuality in motion pictures Short films--Philippines Short films-- Production and direction--Philippines Communication Film and Media Studies
