Interfacing a laser interferometric device to the PC

The thesis, Interfacing a Laser Interferometric Device to the PC, aims to scan the contour of a curved profile with more precision and accuracy in data gathering. To achieve this, the CMM combines with a Laser Interferometer device to be interfaced to a computer. In order to automate the system, step...

The thesis, Interfacing a Laser Interferometric Device to the PC, aims to scan the contour of a curved profile with more precision and accuracy in data gathering. To achieve this, the CMM combines with a Laser Interferometer device to be interfaced to a computer. In order to automate the system, stepper motors are used. These rotates the work piece for a 360 degrees measurement then moves it vertically at different levels. The stepper motors will be controlled by a simple I/O interface card connected to the personal computer. The heart of the hardware system is the data acquisition board designed based from the National Instrument for IEEE-488, General Purpose Interface Bus (GPIB) standards. Using this card enables the user to control the laser, send interface messages and receive measured datas. With programs written in C, the user can store the measured data in a file and draw the top and side view of the contour on the monitor. The system consumes less time during contour scanning and produces accurate datas such that the method achieved would be more reliable to use in reproducing similar workplace. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/7979 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Interface circuits Laser interferometer Electronic circuits Electronic data processing Electronic digital computers--Programming Operating systems (Computers)
